To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cape Cod Children’s Museum being in business, Executive Director Barbara Cotton enlisted the creativity of local artist Karen Scata. The board of the Cape Cod Children’s Museum decided a facelift to the side of the building would be a great way to further celebrate the big occasion.
Artist Karen Scata created a concept that included many of the activities the museum offered. Karen painted children of various ages in silhouette on large panels , with museum activities in color. The idea was to grab people’s attention as they drove up to the museum. The bold colors and graphic shapes really pop on the building, giving it the fun feel you expect when you go inside the building.
